| Expected Outcomes
EMPRO will deliver comprehensive hybrid training on the practical application of FD 2008/947 and FD 2009/829 and the use of existing and forthcoming digital tools to assist professionals in streamlining the application of the instruments, informative materials, as well as organise several national and international events, aimed at fostering awareness-raising, mutual learning, exchange of experiences among justice professionals and cooperation between Member States.
Therefore, the project expects to:
01
Provide an overview of the legal framework within the partner countries [e.g., legislation, bureaucratic steps, procedural concerns], thus ensuring meaningful reflection amongst practitioners regarding the higher degree of harmonisation between legal and judicial cultures |
02
By building on top of previous projects, identify gaps, exploit conclusions and recommendations tailored for probation officers and services, and contribute to the stronger exploitation of useful tools such as the EJN Atlas and other comparative materials |
04
Promote just and fair proceedings ruled by the principle of proportionality and necessity, further strengthening the common notion that detention should be an ultima ratio measure |
05
Increase the Stakeholder's capacity with regards to the contextualisation and operationalisation of FD 2008/947 and FD 2009/829 |
06
Enable the expansion of the interest of these practitioners in better understanding the scope and implications attached to these instruments |
07
Consolidate training on digitalisation and IT skills among probation services |
08
Streamline the sharing of digital-based good and promising practices and procedures between EUMS’s probation services |
09
Advocate for the respect of the right to non-discrimination, right to a fair trial, right to the presumption of innocence and the principle of legality and proportionality within proceedings and ensure due consideration for the right to a dignified and honourable life, the right to family, the right to work and financial independence |
